Lincs Aquatics Covid19 Policy and Practices
As some of you may have seen we recently sent out an email to keep our customer up to date with what is happening with the stores during the current coronavirus situation. It isn't something that we do very often, but we did just want to send out a message to our customers at a time where there seems to be a lot of questions, but far fewer answers. We have had a lot of calls, messages and emails over the last week from people who have been very concerned about if they will be able to get the supplies they need for their pets. So hopefully adding some information here about what we are doing, and what we intend to do, can help put some peoples worries at ease.
All three of our local stores are currently open, and we intend for them to remain so. Obviously we have to make everyone's safety a priority, so we would ask that everyone maintains an appropriate distance between themselves and others in store (we have plenty of space at all stores so there is no need for anyone to climb in anyone else's pocket!) We do also have handwashing facilities at all stores, and again ask that everyone takes the opportunity to do their bit and use them, to try to turn the tide on this virus as quickly as possible. At this moment in time, we have no guidance to expect that we will need to close, and it appears that pet supplies stores in other countries have been allowed to continue to supply customers during any enforced closures, so we are optimistic that will be the case here too. We will remain on our standard winter closing hours of 5.00 pm for the foreseeable future but will keep you updated if anything changes.
Delivery and Stock
We have been doing our best to increase stocks of important essentials, and have been working hard to get as many of these on the website as possible to be available for delivery. We can also arrange a click and collect service for those who would like to order from the store and collect their items without having to leave their car, we can bring them out to the car for them. For anyone who is in need of any of these services, please call your local store, we will put the numbers at the bottom of this post if you do not know them. For those local customers who would usually come in store but are unable to, we are also looking at doing drop off runs in certain areas on set days to help keep supplies getting to those isolating (please let us know if you think this could be something that would help you). We haven't got this fully worked out yet and will depend on the response we get, so let us know if you have any feedback on the idea. All deliveries will need a contact number and will be dropped just outside the door, so as not to compromise anyone's isolation practices. We will call to let you know we are there, but maintain a safe and appropriate distance. For water deliveries, we will bring water in full containers, so that they can just be swapped for your empty containers, without the need for contact whilst filling. We are hoping this may be particularly useful for our more elderly customers, especially if they require essential items like food and water change supplies.
We have temporarily reduced the postage cost on the website for orders which do not meet the free shipping criteria to £3.99. This is to make it more cost-effective for those who need small amounts of essential supplies. Hopefully, this will help with items such as reptile live food where you may need more regular smaller deliveries. We are also doing our best to send out as many parcels as we can with Royal mail 24hr, as we know most people have arrangements with their own postman for leaving parcels etc, and we are hoping it will help ease the concern for those trying to keep a distance from others at the moment. We will also not be requesting signatures for royal mail deliveries, and are trying to pack parcels as much as possible to fit through letterboxes.
Final points and Contact Info
We hope that all our customers are bearing up ok, and if there is anything that we can do to help make things easier at this difficult time, please let us know. We have been part of the local community for 30 years at our original store, and are well aware of the concern out there that people have about their pets at the moment, especially for our older customers, so if we can help ease the worry, we will do our best to.
